Hi girls! I wanted to post an update on my garden progress. Still a lot to do but I have come a long way in just a few weeks. I built two raised beds already but am going to purchase some better wood to reinforce the ill-advised wood used here. :) The layering of the beds goes fabric, gopher wire, more fabric, hardwood from trees cut down on site, straw for filler, raised bed soil and chicken manure. * In the first raised bed, I transplanted Beefsteak and Cherry Tomatoes, and direct sowed Basil, Roma Tomatoes, Garlic, Borage, more Garlic, Sweet Potatoes, and Zucchini. Still going in this box is Kale and Tatsoi once they're big enough to transplant (those are still under lights). * In the second raised bed, I direct sowed two types of Carrots, Beets, Shallots, Thai Basil. I also have Calendulas down the middle of the bed and Chamomile on one side. I also transplanted Green onion and Leeks. Still to go in this bed is Black Krim and Beefsteak Tomatoes growing from seed under the lights. * I have two 3' metal rings. One growing Grape Tomatoes, Garlic, Calendulas, Fennel and Zinnias. The second ring will have more Zucchini and Calendulas. * I also have individual pots with Wildflowers, more Tomatoes, Rosemary, Mint, Pole Beans and more Carrots. * I still need beds for my Eggplant, Peppers, Lettuce and Herbs and am going to get mulch this weekend to lay down once all cardboard is laid down around all of the beds. That's a LOT! I am becoming besties with the soil guy at United Growers too. :) I hope it all makes it through the season ok but will be sure to keep you posted. Ordered some Horticulture Oil to keep on hand for any pesky pests. Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi! Here's the LB Lawn to Garden link. I haven't found if edibles are acceptable but still looking.
